Contemporary Jewish Cultures

The thematic focal point in our collection, Contemporary Jewish Cultures, is new and in the process of development. The aim is to record, collect and study Jewish forms of expression in all their religious and cultural diversity. Our aim is to make this wealth of facets both visible and tangible in our exhibitions, events, educational programmes and digital offers.

Contemporary Jewish Cultures need not be directly linked with religion, but it is possible that they have emerged from an engagement with that religion. Everyday life within the Jewish community and the diverse relationships of Jews to their environment find cultural forms of expression. It is a dynamic process!

We cordially invite you to take part in this engagement with the Jewish present, to get to know these contemporary cultures and be inspired by them!
