About our provenance research
"On display in our permanent exhibition is this extraordinary Tora crown, which never fails to catch my eye. Instead of a single crown, this is a composition of four crowns. This fine piece was probably used in the synagogue of the Orthodox Jewish community which was destroyed by the Nazis in 1938. In 1990, the Jewish Museum acquired the crown in the art trade. In my proenienz research I try to find out how it got there.
